'Godman' booked for raping a follower in Ujjain

UJJAIN: Bhagwan Bapu engaged in delivering religious discourses has been booked for sexually exploiting a follower and raping her for over 10 months in Ujjain.
According to sources, the victim was originally resident of Kota and had come in contact with the accused in 2010 during a discourse. The woman in her complaint said that Bapu brought her to ashram in Ujjain and promised marriage.He continued making physical relations with her and when she pushed for marriage, she was thrown out of the ashram.
The victim reported the matter to Mahakal police station but no action was taken. It was only after she complained to the human rights commission, the police on Thursday night registered a case under section 376 of the IPC against Bapu.
SP MS Verma said the accused is absconding and raids were being carried out to nab him.
